This page explains what LegalWorldHub is, how we produce our content, and what you should not rely on us for. We publish it because you should be able to judge for yourself whether our work is worth trusting.

We are not attorneys

LegalWorldHub is an independent publisher of legal information. We are not a law firm, we do not employ attorneys, and nobody here is licensed to practise law in any US state or jurisdiction.

Nothing on this website is legal advice.

Reading this site does not create an attorney-client relationship between you and LegalWorldHub, its owner, or its contributors. No such relationship is created by contacting us, emailing us, or submitting a form.

Because we cannot give legal advice, we do not tell you whether you have a case, what your claim is worth, or what you should do about your particular situation. Those questions require a licensed attorney who knows the facts of your case and the law in your state.

What we do instead

We research primary sources, cite them openly, and explain what they say.

Where we state a deadline, an eligibility rule, a fee, a filing requirement or a dollar figure, we link to the source so you can verify it yourself. Where a situation genuinely needs a licensed attorney, we say so rather than filling the gap with guesswork.

Our sourcing standard

In order of preference, we use:

  1. Official settlement administrators and court authorised settlement websites, for anything concerning a specific class action settlement
  2. Primary law, meaning statutes, court rules, court orders and published case law
  3. Government agencies, including the IRS, the FTC, the CFPB, state courts and state agencies
  4. Established legal databases, such as Cornell’s Legal Information Institute and Justia
  5. Published research and official statistics

We do not use other content sites, aggregators, or AI generated summaries as sources for factual claims.

Where we cannot verify something, we say so

This matters more than any promise of accuracy.

When a figure or date is reported by news outlets but is not confirmed by the settlement administrator or the court, we label it as reported rather than presenting it as fact. When we cannot reach an official source at all, we say that too, and we would rather leave a claim out than dress up a guess.

If you see a number on this site described as reported, estimated, or unconfirmed, treat it as exactly that.

Settlement information changes, sometimes daily

Class action settlements are live legal proceedings. Deadlines get extended, courts grant or withhold approval, appeals pause distributions, and administrators update their guidance without notice.

Every settlement page on this site carries the date it was last verified. That date matters. If it is old, the information may have moved on.

Always confirm current details on the official settlement website before filing a claim, opting out, or missing a deadline. The administrator’s site governs. Nothing on this site overrides it.

Deadlines are unforgiving

Many legal claims and settlement claim windows are subject to strict deadlines. If you miss one, you may permanently lose the right to bring your claim or receive a payment, regardless of its merits.

Do not rely on this website to determine your deadline. Verify it with the settlement administrator, the relevant court, or a licensed attorney in your state.

Law differs by state and changes over time

US law varies significantly between states and changes over time. Statutes are amended, courts reinterpret rules, and filing procedures are updated.

An article that was accurate when written may no longer reflect current law. We date our articles, review them periodically, and correct them when we learn they are wrong, but you should verify current requirements before acting.

Settlement amounts are not predictions

Where we publish settlement figures, ranges or estimates, they describe what a settlement provides or what has been reported. They are not predictions of what you will receive.

Most settlements pay pro rata, meaning the final amount depends on how many valid claims are filed and what the court awards in fees and costs. Nobody can tell you your payment amount before those things are known, and any site that does is guessing.

Your own claim determination notice from the settlement administrator is the authoritative figure.

This is not medical, tax or financial advice

Some of our articles touch on medications, health related settlements, and the tax treatment of settlement payments.

Never stop taking a prescribed medication because of a lawsuit or settlement. Speak to your doctor or pharmacist.

We are not tax professionals. Where we discuss whether a settlement payment may be taxable, we describe the general principles and link to IRS guidance. Your situation may differ. Consult a qualified tax professional.

How we make money

We believe you should know this before you decide how much weight to give our content.

Advertising. This website displays third party advertising.

Lead generation. We may receive compensation when readers submit their information through forms on this site or are connected with attorneys through us. This is disclosed in our Privacy Policy.

This compensation does not constitute a recommendation or endorsement of any attorney or firm. We do not vet, assess or vouch for the competence of any attorney who may contact you. If you are looking for legal representation, your state bar association’s referral service is an independent starting point.

Editorial independence

Advertisers and attorney partners have no input into our editorial content. They do not review articles before publication, cannot commission topics, and cannot request changes.

We do not write favourably about a firm because it pays us, and we do not name specific firms as recommendations. Where a settlement or a company is the subject of an article, our description of it is based on the official record, not on any commercial relationship.

Use of AI

We use AI tools to assist with research, drafting and editing. Every article is reviewed, fact checked against primary sources, and edited by a human before publication. Responsibility for accuracy rests with us, not with any tool.

External links

We link to statutes, government agencies, courts, settlement administrators and legal databases so you can verify what we write.

We do not control those websites and are not responsible for their content, accuracy, availability or privacy practices. A link is not an endorsement.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, LegalWorldHub and its owner accept no liability for any loss or damage arising from reliance on the content of this website. You use this site and act on its content at your own risk.

Corrections

We correct errors. If an article contains a factual mistake, we fix it and note the correction rather than quietly editing it away.

To report an error, email contact@legalworldhub.com with the article URL and, where possible, a source. We would rather be corrected than confidently wrong.
